Remove the black cover and it can be positioned close to the subject for a shoot-through diffuser. Use the black cover to create a soft silver interior for a bounce source. Collapsible for on-location jobs. This is the smallest folding umbrella of its size at 15 inches and is recommended to those who need to travel small. The small folding design means more joints, moving parts, and a hollow shaft resulting in a less sturdy design than regular folding umbrellas. Because of the double jointed ribs, it may be more convenient to store the black removable cover separately after being removed for the first time. If your needs do not require a super compact umbrella, you might want to consider getting a 32" or 45" umbrella instead.
